This is the first evidence that biofilms play an important role in formation of macrofouling communities. Biofilms from areas with high anthropogenic pressure led to an increase in invasive species. This particulary important for restoration of damaged habitats.

In this study we investigated the effect of marine natural products on quorum sensing inhibition of Chromobacterium violaceum CV017. Quorum sensing inhibiton of few natural products were investigated using E.coli modified reporters. Finally, we demonstrated that kojic acid inhibited biofouling in the mesocosm experiment.
